My AR has an 8.5 lb trigger in it (PSA "classic" LPK). Are their any drop in trigger options for a 6 lb pull single stage (or a low cost replacement if not drop in)? I don't like 4-5 lb triggers (I have one on my AKM and I feel it's too light for a fighting rifle). All I see listed is 3-4.5 lb triggers.
Advice?

Not going to be that much difference.

OP order a set of replacement springs from JP or get a Geiselle or some two stage trigger.

JP springs are probably your best option.

You're gonna get a lot of opinions here but I'd say from 8.5 to 5.5lbs is a noticeable difference.
I have the ALG Defense ACT and it is real nice......... crisp and smooth!

JP springs. I have S&W, PSA, and ALG-Defense triggers with JP springs. They all pull about 4.5 lbs. The ALG is no better than the others. You wont see a differenc until you spend $100 plus.

I initially had a RRA LPK fire control group that had a tested trigger pull around 11 lbs; and the grittiness from the machining also caused creep. I swapped it out for ALG Defense ACT trigger; the creep was eliminated, and was several pounds lighter (I have not tested the trigger pull yet, so I'm unable to give the actual pull weight) The first picture below is the hammer from the RRA LPK compared with the ACT hammer below it to compare the hammer's engagement point with the trigger. The next 7 pictures; the RRA part is on the left, with the ALG on the right to compare each component.

The ALG compared with RRA has a slightly smaller wire gauge for their hammer spring, and the ALG hammer and trigger pins are chromoly with a second outer notch to help further prevent/limit pins from walking.

JP spring kit is the best for me, except for the triggers in my JP guns. The kits work great on Mil Spec triggers brings mine down to a good 4.5 lbs.
