I bought my first AR back and February and decided I'd build my own in 6.8 SPC shortly after.  After waiting 4 months for my Bison Armory barrel it finally came in last week.  Took it to the range yesterday for break in and was run short because the range closes at 5 on Sundays but my last grouping was 0.75" using Hornaday V-Max.  There's still some adjustments I'd like to do and think I can get a little improvement but there were zero malfunctions so I'm happy with that.  The gun specs are:

Aero Precision Lower
Aero Precision COP Mid-Length Upper
18" Bison Armory Stainless Mid-Length Barrel
Gisselle SSA-E Trigger
Magpul Alum Trigger Guard
Magpul ACS Stock
Magpul MOE Grip
Tasco 6-24x50 Scope
Harris Bipod
BCM Mod 3 CH
Kies NiB Carrier
Stag 6.8 Bolt

And for a little fun, I took a shot at this I found on the range

Is there any particular reason that you have the bipod oriented with the legs folding towards the aft end of the rifle?

Personally I wouldn't have an exposed gas block but that's entirely your call.

Other than that, nice rifle.

As long as the gas tube is not exposed its a non issue

I'd prefer the gas block covered but the COP upper doesn't cover it but I also settled for that due to the versatility of the rail sections.

Nice rifle but if their a reason you chose a Tasco scope for that rifle?

That was an old scope I used to have on an airsoft sniper rifle about 13ish years ago and the bipod came from same said gun. It's old but it works perfectly fine and has a great picture. And yes I said airsoft but at the time these were actual gun parts and not airsoft "gun parts".

...for you.

My pinky has a wicked burn scar from the only rifle I've ever shot with an exposed gas block due to some people having long monkey arms.

Might be why I said "personally" though.

Nice build!

I'm using the same upper/lower/trigger for a build right now. Big Brown Truck has my barrel "out for delivery" as we speak. I hope to join you in the AP COP Crew soon.

Your pictures make it hard to see which rail sections you chose. Can you list which ones you used and why?

Off Topic: Nice looking boat too.

A beauty!  I have several 18s and 20s with exposed gas blocks. Have had fixers issues. If you become paranoid about, have ADCO Firearms pin it.

Your choice of backgrounds has a nice bonus..... should the government ever try to confiscate assault weapons you'll be able to show these photos when you are telling the police about how your AR was lost in a tragic boating accident.

Thanks for all the comments.  I had Ben at bison pin the gas block so I'm good there and the rail sections I used is the bare one on the right side, left is bar with one sling attachment point, and the bottom section has about 4 inches of rail so I could mount the bipod and the rest bare.  I used the bare ones so they wouldn't snag on anything and also I don't have any rail covers.

Nice build! Wish Aero still made the COP in rifle length

Nice. No reason to add the weight of rail covers if you don't need to.
