Hello everyone, figured i'd post my first AR. Picked out an (unfortunately) NJ Legal Stag Model 3 the other day and it just came in, not bad at all for $800 cash out the door.

The whole rifle feels great, but in particular:
-Little to no upper-lower gap
-Nice forged lower for the money
-Awesome Diamondhead handguard
-M4 style feedramps
-Feels great

Now this is my first AR15, and I do have one question. My handguard feels solid, but does rotate/twist slightly. Is it possible to tighten it up? If not I'd fear i would lose a decent amount of BUIS accuracy with flip-ups mounted on the handguard as it moves with recoil and whatnot. Definitely would like some insight on this.

Planned Upgrades:
-EOTech 512 w/ LaRue
-Lucid 3x w/ LaRue FTS
-Magpul BUIS
-PMags
-Magpul Angled FG
-CAA grip
-Magpul Trigger Guard

I did not realize DH had started making the VRS-T in drop-in style now.  It's a great free float.

It feels awesome. Really solid, and great for somebody like me that doesn't like holding onto rails.

A non free float rail will have a little play to it.

Since you have not bought the EOTech why not just buy the one with a QD built in save the cash in stead of buying the base and the sight.

Nice stick by the way.

That rail looks like it would be comfortable to hold.

This.

The only rails that should have an attached BUIS are free floated rails.  However I'd still recommend you install that BUIS on the rail of the gas block.

Just make sure you buy a front BUIS intended for GAS BLOCKs as there is a difference in height between them and the top rail.

Oh and welcome to the site!

Thank you! And that makes sense, wasn't thinking I guess. Any input on Troy vs Magpul BUIS?

I don't think Magpul makes a "gas block" height buis. Only "rail height".
and BTW... that diamond head handguard looks AWESOME!
