Hello everyone My name is Bart, I am ex military USN SeaBee Carried a M-16 with 203 grenade launcher. I have a very nice collection of firearms and was a journeyman tool and die maker for 20+ years. I have always done some type of gunsmith work as I had the machines to do just about anything and the patients to take things apart and put them back together.
Now that I am nearly 50 I have been wanting an AR15, but I want it with the gas piston system in it as I always hated cleaning it as the direct impingment system carboned up everything terribly and had to soak the bolt with oil. I have been doing some research and have found some great strides that have been made in AR technology since I got out of the Navy in 1989...lol! I am looking for the best bang for my buck and say a middle of the road gun and not such an entry level as a mid level gun. something with a 16" bbl long fore-grip with quad rails etc. I don't want the handle or high front site on it as that is in the way for me. Any suggestions of tried and true weapons would be great, thanks in advance, Bart |
