I've got a Colt LE6920 (restricted roll mark) that I bought new a few years ago. I'm interested in learning it's birthday because it will eventually be passed down and that kind of info would be nice. Does anyone know a website where I can search the serial number and find out this information? Thanks |

You can also find a date on the barrel. Under the handguard near front sight. . |

What's the "code"? The code I'm just assuming is the serial number prefix letters at the left side of the numbers of the serial numbers, in your case with the LE6920 is prefix letter "LE". On Sporter marked SP6920 (and other variants) model the prefix letters is "SP". The closest to the mfg date would be stamped on your factory plastic bag that's wrapped on your carbine. Like what member AMMOTECH posted go to the Colt site, Customer Services tab, then click Serial Number Lookup, but sometimes it won't have the info because the info are not loaded in their database yet. |

Ohh....ok. Unfortunately, and much to my dismay, my sister threw away the box and the bag I couldn't see anything on the barrel under the Troy free float quad rail. |

Anyone have one for S&W?
