[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barrel code

I was at a gun show and came across a guy selling what he claimed were Colt barrels. The were 20" gov't profile barrels with A2 FSB and threaded for a flash hider. Still had the cardboard down the bore. The markings forward of the FSB were: 36678 MP 5.56 NATO 1/7

The FSB had a "M" on the left side and on the right side was some type of emblem and the number "25".

Just to the rear of the FSB was the number 7/09.

Finally, there is the number "9" near the barrel extension.

The barrel had a triangular handguard cap, sling swivel and barrel nut.

The seller claimed that they were brand new Colt M16 barrels.

Can anyone here verify that these are Colt barrels? I've never seen the numbering 36678 on the end of a barrel.

Prolly FN manufacturing. Their CAGE code is close, 3S679. They made M16A3s and replacement barrels. I bet they don't have M-4 cuts on the barrel extension either.

FN is good stuff.

That could be. My eyes don't see small numbers as well as they used to.
