| Hey guys I am wondering if it is normal for the end of the gas key to be dinged up..on my new bcm upper now with 300 rounds through it has just the smallest ding on the end of the gas key that mates with the gas tube..i didnt notice any binding and it is smooth but i filed down the little bur any way..i wasnt aware that the gas tube actually goes into the gas key about an inch until after i filed the burr..is this kind of thing normal at all? |

In a machine shop parts are often kicked out and into a bin. Might have been a mark that was done during manufacturing. The tube would be messed up if it contacted the gas key hard enough to mark it. You can do a couple of checks... 1) Remove the bolt and cycle the action without the bolt. Should be no interference or dragging. 2) Separate the receivers and turn the upper upside down. The gas tube should be centered and parallel. |
