| I have a RRA with the UTE2 upper. give me some suggestions on optics. how do I get a mount high enough to go over rear sight? |
|
Or just about any EOTech (true co-witness with those made with the base that does not have the integral riser, lower third co-witness on those with the integral riser). The two dished-out areas on the front corners o fthe sight base itself are to make it easier to get your thumbs in there to power up/down an EOTech with the rear controls.
The UTE original) was made specifically for tubular red dot sights (Aimpoints M, ML, etc, Trijicon Tri-Powers, etc...). When the design was revised to the UTE-2, the rail height was lowered to that of a standard A4 upper to accomodate just about any dot sight. It was never really intended for magnified optics, although those which are short enough and which have an appropriate eye relief can be used in front of it Steve/RRA |

thanks guys. DO I need any type of riser with the aimpoint pro or will it clear as is out of the box? It will be fine out of the box with the aimpoint qrp2 mount. basically an absolute cowitness... if you want a 1/3 I would buy from LaRue directly and go ahead and put it on one of their mounts. However, I like the qrp2 just fine. |

The UTE2 has the same rail height as the A4/M4, so the mount that comes with the PRO will clear it. I do not know if it is a true co-witness, or lower 1/3 co-witness, as I do not own one, and the ML3 I have uses a LaRue mount. |
