I'd like to see an RIS II in fde on an 18" bbl SPR if anyone has one that would be great!

If I recall correctly there's one in the Mk12 picture thread, either that or the SPR picture thread, don't remember exactly.

I almost went that route with my block 2 upper but decided against it.  You have to install the rail, then install the gas block.  If you ever wanna remove the rail, gas block has to come off too.  

I just sold off the upper and built a new one with a 12" centurion.

ETA:  This is assuming you're using rifle length gas.  Midlength is a different story.

You might want to reconsider your choice of rails for an SPR if you are thinking of using a bipod.  I would say it is far from the best option.

That was a very interesting read, so have any changes been made to the RIS II? Is it any more durable?

they changed design...its a non-issue now... they removed the lower front vents hole so now its stronger
