| i was told this was a FN upper, but after some research I can't confirm that fact . The only marking visible is the raised "keyhole" on right side behind the case deflector. I'm not sure whether the barrel is .223 or 5.56 NATO, as there is no visible designation on the barrel. Can anybody with more experience in these matters chime in with some info? http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g258/fowl-intent/B194DBBF-F3D6-43EC-92EA-D32A47F8170C-5571-000004E19E055091.jpg |

According to posts elsewhere on AR15.com the keyhole is commonly a "Cerro forge". Could be a number of manufacturers that use Cerro forged blanks. AR15.com results The barrel should have other markings besides the caliber (usually between the front sight and end of barrel). |
