You're going with great stuff, why not finish it off right with some Troy BUIS instead of MBUS?

Also, out of curiousity, what kind of receiver extension (buffer tube) are you using?  I hate seeing the word Mil-Spec on that rather than a brand.

Honestly I am not sure of the brand - it was purchased off Amazon. I measured it and it conforms dimensionally as well as physically to the mil-spec, so it is what it is - came as advertized.

As far as the Troy sights, I may upgrade in the future, but I already had the MBUS sights that I used for airsoft.....and before anyone says anything, I have legit ones, not Chinese copies, and not the airsoft version. lol

I bought the real ones on purpose so I would be able to get used to the function and sight picture before putting them on a real rifle.

Amazon receiver extensions can be 6061 aluminum or 7075, depending on who the vendor was.  Either can do the job, but 7075 will be stronger, and less likely to fail, which is rare.

I hear you - which is why I didn't end up using Amazon. Your post made me question myself and then I went back and looked.

Sorry, I have been buying parts from everywhere I could that had quality stuff in stock. The grip, BAD lever and trigger guard came from Amazon, but the stock actually came from DGS Arms.

I use MBUS on my duty weapon, and have a bunch of Troy sights sitting in a box.  The MBUS are more than capable, don't let anyone kid you.

Finially finished the build.

My rail system came in, and while I do not have a BCG *still* - I am working on it. Fit was tested using a borrowed M16 profile BCG - so everything works like its suppossed too.

I am going to use the same BCG to test fire it later on.

What do you all think - turned out pretty nice I think.

I think it would drive me crazy not having the front sight all the way out at the end of the rail, but it is your weapon, not mine.  Aside from that, it looks nicely laid out.

What are you going with as an optic?

Looks good...

I personally would have went with a longer rail to at least cover the gas block but other than that I wouldn't change a thing.

Looks good, but I would suggest a hand stop to keep your fingers off the gas block....just in case.

Its not completely finished.

I am going to put a MAGPUL canted fore-grip on the bottom rail, and a surefire light in a LaRUE QD mount will eventually make its way to the side as well.
That is a 9" DD lite rail - the 10" rail was always OOS and I wanted the 9" one anyways - I don't mind having the gas block being exposed.

I want to put an ACOG on it - but since those are going for about as much as I spent on parts - that is going to have to wait a while.
