Do you guys normally put the little pin the backstrap for your Magpul MIAD grip? It doesn't seem to me that the backstrap is going anywhere if you don't put the pin in but I was thinking maybe it came with the pin for a reason. I don't plan on changing out the backstrap anytime in the future but was just wondering what your opinions were. Thanks for the reply AR gods.

Even though it fits super tight, yes, I still use the pin. It will come out if you want to change something later.

I put it in. I gather some peoples backstraps haven't fit as tight as others, one of mine slid in tight but by hand, one needed something heavy to help it. Further I suspect enviromentals, abrasives and temperature changes combined with handling and recoil would/could conspire to eventually cause them to loosen up, as would regularly reconfiguring, which I can't imagine doing, but someone might, the pin would only add a little hassle to that process, of course you would eventually wear its bore out too probably r&r'ing it often.

I left mine out as it's mostly a range toy.  Were I to use it for a different applications, I would certainly put it in.

If you drop or bang your AR when SHTF it will pop off. Install the pin.

I installed the pins in all my MIAD grips. It's an easy thing to do to maintain peace of mind.
