Dont think you are supposed to use swear words in the title and for the love of all that is good please type in sentences.

Now you say you "built one" does that mean you started with a model 1 upper and put a bcg from company x, a barrel from company x, charging handle, gas block and tube from company x?
An upper is an upper, its pretty hard to mess an upper receiver up so bad that the gun will not run right.

If it has ever choked, I don't consider it flawless. It would be safe to say that it hasn't continued to choke since the last repair.

Tough read. So, was that a Model 1 BCG that choked and lost the key?  Not flawless IMO, if the BCG lost a key due to staking

How many rounds through this rifle?

You basically just told everyone what you think of your gun, so we can tell you what you're supposed to think of your gun.

If you like it and it shoots well, it's a good gun.  If you don't like it, it sucks and you should sell it.

I had one that didn't work so well at first, I tinkered a little and now it's flawless.  I chalked it up to not being fully broken in.  Runs great now.

Sorry guys get what you are saying. Had in my brain what I wanted to say just my fingers didnt type it. Hope this explains more of my question..
Here is where I sit.
I bought my other ar-15 colt, and a couple bush masters, and they are complete rifles by name.
They have all been flawless for thosands of rounds.
Now for my model one I have about 800 to a 1000 rounds threw her.
She did choke at 200 rds due to not being staked.
Now this was my first build, and honestly funds where tight back then and model 1 was in my price.
Ofcoarse i know u paid for what u get. but me personaly looking at it it seems solid.. but im not a ar expert by far.
So my question here is i have searched all around for post on these uppers and just cant find any new post.
Want to know if any of you gentlemen have this model ar 15 223 car with a few thousand rds threw it and how does it still function.
Any other bumps did u run across with function.
Just what to know how your upper held up putting more miles on her.
Any info greatly appreciated.

I don't understand why you're asking for an opinion when you have one, that you've shot a fair amount.

Regardless, I have a Model 1 EM4 upper and BCG, also on a RRA lower, carbine stock, I have over 5k rounds thru it, it is overgassed, it broke the M1 non HP/MP marked bolt around the 4k round mark, I replaced it, and got a Spikes ST-2 buffer, it is now much smoother cycling and hopefully the bolt will reflect this with a longer service life, I have, of course, been more deligent in my inspection from that time forward. The bolt has been the only issue, accuracy is MOA or better with loads it likes, and 2-4MOA with almost everything. I have run many factory and handloads, from 35gr to 77gr projectiles and slightly below minimim powder charges to upper end of 5.56 pressure, it has cycled them all, no steel cases though, simply because I like brass I can reuse.
