I've got a 2006 vintage Bushmaster lower that I would like to build into a higher end platform.  According to the 'chart' it appears as if most of the key, quality components pertain to the upper receiver.  I plan on replacing the buffer tube and stock but leaving the rest stock (BM lower and BM lpk).  I ask this because I have a LGS rollmarked Spikes lower with a PSA LPK that I prefer with another build but could possibly use instead.

By quality build, I'm talking about something like a BCM Upper.  Would you feel comfortable slapping one of those on a Bushamster lower?

Bushmaster lowers are good to use. I have not heard of an instance of being out of spec...

The quality of the parts installed will be the true test of how well the rifle works.

My Bushmaster was originally a Clinton ban gun with an A1 upper, A2 buttstock, and ak brake on the barrel. I have since rebuilt the upper, but the lower is still all original and works like a charm.

I have two BM lowers (circa 2001-2002). One has an SSA trigger with a BCM upper and the other is shared between a modified BM upper and a dedicated 22LR upper. Neither has been an issue since new. Generally, the lower is less of an issue (quality wise) than the upper. You can always replace the parts with a known quality LPK if you have doubts.
