Hey all. I am new to this forum and to the AR world. I have a DPMS Panther L16 and was wondering no matter what type of optic I put on it will I need some sort of riser or spacer to lift the scope above the front sight?  Also for under $200 what would be the best scopes to look at?  Probably common questions to most but I am just learning. Thanks in advance for any help.

No riser necessary as you can co-witness or 1/3 witness. The front sight post is not an issue when looking through the optic. I would recommend an Aimpoint Pro or Eotech if you are looking for a red dot type optic.

Thanks for the info. What exactly is co-witness?  Sorry but I am new to these. Also if I wanted to go to a regular scope for under $200 what would someone recommend?
