Do any of you have any experience with the Noveske Recce Basic Upper, the Light Recce Low Pro Upper and/or Rogue Hunter A3 Upper? This would be mostly as a range gun. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I have 3 Noveske AR's, all with VIS uppers, my brother has a Noveske with a low pro upper. IMO, you can't go wrong with any Noveske rifle. Of the ones you mentioned, I would recommend the low pro, it is a fantastic rifle.

My Noveske Basic Upper now looks like this:

Shitty cell phone pic.  It has been flawless though a couple thousand rounds now and monthly 3-gun competition.  I went with the Basic recce because I wanted the rail of my choice.

No matter which Noveske you choose, you will not make a bad choice.  They just all have tradeoffs depending on your budget, mission/needs, and weight.

If by range gun you mean a paper puncher, I'd go with a heavier stainless barrel.  I've put 3,000+ rounds through my low-pro upper and it does heat up fairly quick at the range (constant shooting). I also have an 18" SPR, and that one holds tighter groups for longer.  You're not going to hurt the Low-Pro barrel, but heat does cause groups to open up a bit on those lighter weight barrels.  They're great for hunting and defense (still plenty accurate), but if you're trying to shoot for tiny groups, I can tell you from experience you'll enjoy a heavy stainless barrel more.   For out to 300-400 yards, the 14.5" Afghan or 16" Recon with NSR should do the trick nicely, and be extremely lightweight/handy.  I just ordered an Afghan myself.
