Is it common for an AR to have a slightly loose front handguard retaining cap? I know it is aroused to be squeezed between the barrel shoulder and the FSB. mine is slightly wobbly. With no hand guards on it jiggles up and down. With my knights armament two price rail it tightens up some, but while hand guard will move about 1/16, to the point it touches the gas tube and barrel. I am worried it could pinch my tube.
I plan to free float it eventually, but any reason to expedite that? Or is there a way to tighten it? Shims?Its a custom upper, 20" FN barrel, keyhole marked upper (cerro). FSB is secure also. Oh, triangle shaped (M16 style) retaining cap |
