I just finished my first lower assemble. Everything seems to work right, followed instructions here.chamber round in rifle pull trigger and nothing goes boom ! I was trying to shoot some wolf ammo. Tryed twice to fire, both rounds had light firing pin marks. Using new bolt and carrier,Could it be a weak hammer spring?

Did you try more than two?  What did the primers look like?  Did you build the upper receiver as well?  That's where I'd be looking, but I think I have heard that Wold has hard primers.

Is your hammer spring installed correctly? Can you post a pic of the spring as it's currently installed?

Try again with a different lower.

Too many variables, could be the firing pin, could be the hammer spring, could be the ammo...need to narrow it down.  See if the same 2 rounds will fire in another rifle.  What caliber is your build as this sometimes happens with 7.62x39 caliber with hard primer.

I agree. Very common for people to install hammer spring flipped around.

It is in 5.56 caliber, both legs of spring are on top of cross pin.No I did not build this upper,24"bushy  I think. Both primmers had light firing pin marks in center, just not enough to detonate.steel case rounds, did not have another rifle with me in that caliber.check to make sure firing pin moves freely and it does.I have shot this ammo in some of my other 5.56 ar's with no trouble. dimple in primmer is about the size of a fine point ink pen and about the same depth.

Again, have you verified the hammer spring is not installed backwards?

Preadterwacker you were right on the money. Pulled out another factory lower and did some comparing. I had the sping on backwards like you thought. Thanks to all who contributed. Hammer swings about twice as hard now, will head for the range soon to make sure, but I have no doubt it will function.

Glad you got it sorted out. I installed the hammer spring backwards on my first lower build.

Trigger felt great, light and crisp, until the hammer pin walked out causing a light primer strike on a .223 rem round.

Made it through 99 rounds out of a 100 round box till that happened.

Glad you got it fixed. It's not a uncommon mistake. Enjoy!
