I've got $2,500 that's been burning a hole in my pocket for weeks now while I've been patiently waiting for DD to get M4A1 RIS II's in FDE back in stock.

My original intentions have been to have DD custom build me a 14.5" rifle with a RIS II. While I've been waiting, part of me is now thinking screw it, just pick up a Noveske and be done with it.

This is the Noveske I'm looking at:

Noveske

Part of me says continue to hold out for the DD because the RIS II is the tits. The negative there is that DD will only pin their muzzle devices on their custom builds, and I may make a move on an AAC can some time down the road.

I can get an AAC 51T muzzle device with the Noveske.

What would you do?

Buy a SR15 Mod 1 14.5 and pin a 51T to it.

I have a Noveske Low Pro 14.5 with a 51T and the KAC is 3x better.

Three times better? How so in your opinion?

A lot lighter, the balance is tons better.
The Noveske is front heavy with the mid weight barrel and the rail is thick. The receivers overall are heavier
The KAC comes with all the ambi controls,QD points, a Sopmod, 2 stage match trigger.
KAC 14.5 has a golf ball dimpled barrel
The Noveske comes with a GI trigger, Vltor stock, and regular safety.

The KAC has the E3 bolt and the Noveske has a standard AR bolt.

I had to take and buy a $40 safety and $170 trigger just to get the Noveske close to the KAC.
Then add the Sopmod because with a beard the Vltor stock pulls hairs.

This plus add the 51T and make it a non SBR.

Does KAC offer complete 14.5's? I have only run across uppers thus far.

Yes, I linked it above.
You can call or email Lawmens.net and they should be able to sell it and pin the 51T for You.

I gave them a call. They're quoting me at least a 1 month wait, and would have to get me the upper and lower separately.

The price I was quoted seems a bit high too. I'm finding the 16" version for a good $175 less than I was quoted for the 14.5".

It is a badass setup that wasn't on my radar though.

Damn you BTW. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the 14.5" KAC.

Now I'll be waiting another month.

I agree with the SR-15, I still have two Noveske Afghan uppers (one is 5.56 & one is 6.8). I recently traded/ sold two Noveske Recon (16”) and a LaRue Stealth (16”) upper in favor of the SR-15’s. I now have two MOD0’s and a MOD1.

Something to consider with any suppressed rifle:

1. The buildup of carbon in the first comp chamber is accelerated.
2. This buildup affects your muzzle crown and your accuracy.
3. All muzzle devices need to be removed and cleaned out sooner or later (see 1 above).
4. A pined Muzzle device will be harder to service.
5. You only save 1.5”
Out.

That was the plan for the DD. Make it a complete DD block II.

The company I'd be dealing with for the KAC is based out of Florida, and when I called them back at 2:30 my time, it was already after 5:00 there, and no one answered the phones.

At this point, I'm leaning towards going with the KAC tomorrow when I can get these folks back on the phone.

But who knows, something could happen before then that makes me want to give DD another shot, and hope they get some dang RIS II's soon.

At this point, I've ruled out Noveske. It's between the KAC and DD, but as said, I'm leaning towards KAC. You get all those extra goodies for less than $400 more. Plus, I can have the muzzle device I want pinned to the KAC.

The urge to have a Block II is strong in me though...

I'd go with the KAC 14.5" 1st, 2nd a DD RIS II 14.5" Middy build if it was my decision.

At one point in time, I had (8) Noveske rifles and after I shot the SR15, I never looked back..I still have a little more than half of those rifles but, for every one I sold, I replaced it with a KAC. I've shot the 14.5 KAC extensively and it's on my short list of rifles to buy. The 14.5 SR15 is possibly the best 5.56 that KAC currently has on the market..

Don't get me wrong, Noveske definitely builds quality products but, after a couple of friends and I shot the 14.5 SR15 for the first time at a demo before they released them commercially, every one of my friends bought an upper the day they hit the market..

Only reason I didn't jump in on one is due to the fact that I already have (3) 16" SR15's and had just bought my 11.5" KAC E3 SBR. If that wasn't the case, I'd have one in the safe right now..

How are the newer SR15's with 55 grain PMC Bronze? I've read some horror stories about lower powered ammo and KAC ARs in the past.

My primary reservation right now is that my sole plinking ammo is PMC Bronze, and I don't intend to ever change that. It's clean, accurate and affordable.

All my ARs currently have DD barrels, and all of them are stupid accurate with PMC Bronze.

I'd hate to drop $2,500 on the SR15 only to have it shoot less than stellar groups with the ammo I'll be using 95 plus percent of the time.

If I get the DD, I already know I'm GTG with my bulk ammo.

I think if money is no object go for the sr15.....but I like the DD, and you can spend the extra money to mod it however....and on ammo.
Noveske rocks, but it seems like I've heard of some mag-compatibility issues (with pmags I think).  Hate to spend all that money and render over half my mags inoperable.

Look in EE their are complete NEW noveske factory rifles with RIS already on them, basically a noveske block 2. And only around $1650 that leaves money for a aimpoint or Acog, go with the block 2 you 100% will not regret it, I love my DD factory rifle

$1650 is dang cheap for a new Noveske with a RIS II.

The custom DD is gonna run me just over $2k shipped and out the door.

How about instead of waiting for the FDE RIS II, you buy a black RIS II and spray-paint it like a real man would.

I'd be having the RIS II rifle custom built by DD. They're out of stock of the black and FDE RIS IIs right now. I couldn't get black if I wanted right now either.
