Folks- had a number of folks recommend going with a muzzle thread protector instead of a muzzle brake (whether it be a FH or compensator) for AR15 (6.8SPC) that would be used for hunting but folks did not elaborate on the PRO/CON's of muzzle thread protector and just wanted to see if anyone had any info on the benefits of going with a thread protector.
Any and all comments would be appreciated. |
| For a light recoiling caliber like 6.8 you don't need recoil compensation and you won't be at any more dis-advantage with your follow up shots than if you are using a bolt gun. The only reason you might want a flash hider is if you are planning on using the rifle for night time hog or varmint hunting. Then it is nice not have a ball of fire blinding you at each shot. |
