Here is their link http://www.armsmounts.com .Seems pretty absurd considering they profit 99% from it... Anyhow All of their equipment is battle tested, and they own just about every patent out there ( ask troy arms about that one)..Solid equipment.. Very solid...

Very nice. Looks like we're brothers in arms...lol

I would say something about arms reputation for failure in the military, but don't want to get sued. |

I don't get to far into politics..Its pretty obvious how corrupt Washington is, and we will just leave it at that. I come from a military family, and my uncle recommended A.R.M.S.. Let me tell you when a retired 1SG with four tours in Vietnam, and every medal under the sun with the exception of the medal of honor recommends an accessory you buy it.. If I have have problems with it ( which I doubt I will) A.R.M.S is really screwed.. The rail is a very tight fit, and extremely light. Very easy to install as well.. Samson/ Troy models seemed a little loose, bulkier ( the troy), and heavier on other rifles at the show. The samson also required grind work on the FSB which Im opposed to. The Larue only comes in a 9/10/12, and I wanted the FSB model. As far as the FSB goes it closes and opens, and stays out of the way when needed.. with all the features of a stock FSB..
Im going to drop a 1000 rounds today I will update afterwards. Thanks guys |

Beside some questionable political contributions he has brought lawsuits against others in the industry including Mark LaRue over the number 17. I owned a few ARMS mounts that I sold to buy LaRue. Just an explanation, nothing personal toward you or your AR. |

Your uncle may be recommending ARMS because he either used it or heard it recommended some time ago by people in the military. DICK Swans' legal actions and politics aside their optics mounts don't have a great reputation for reliability and their forearms used to be pretty heavy and lagging behind the industry. ARMS is not something that many people use any more if they are paying for it out of their own pocket. Lots of guys in the military don't really know this part from that part anymore than they can tell you "We used Acme radios" not whether that is the best/worst or whatever. Years ago I saw a Blackwater instructor who was retired Army and had been a contractor who did not know ARMS from LaRue; but the guy could shoot like a house afire. He just did not really give a shit beyond "This is an M-4 carbine." any more than I care what kind of processor is in the computer in my office. I do like that front sight though and have to get around to installing mine. Have fun shooting. |

Actually it is on backwards, but I have seen a lot of guys run them that way. Its easy to leave it folded down and deploy it with your support hand with a minimal change in hand position. It also seems to work better with a forward mounted light on the top rail. |

Good start. I'd have kept the stock FSB personally though. I have that arms unit, but have not installed it. It does seem like a good design. The sight looks real good and is a great idea. Always thought they looked durable. Just prefer the pinned on FSB. But I'm sure it will be fine. |

Great setup, which version of that front folding sight did you go with?
That layout should do very well for you, if you are going with the ARMS theme you may as well throw a 40L rear sight on there to go along with it. Its a great rear sight, and I used one for years on my duty weapon. |

Yeah, it would be really cool if Magpul would make a slight design change to the mold so that it didn't look odd when mounted "backwards". Just changing the shape of the sight portion so it looked the same regardless of release position would be awesome. |

Question If you steal another companies patent, mass produce it, and loose the legal battle doesnt that make you a thief? Troy J.R of Troy Industries went to work for the guy just to steal he's patents ( bottom paragraph).. I would boycott Troy on that principle alone.. As far as political contributions.. Im hearing from a cousin in Boston that he dumped a truck load of cash into Scott Browns campaign.. Guess he's trying to make up for it..lol..

A.R.M.S. is the owner of U.S. Patent No. 7,356,962 for a low profile flip-up sight and the settlement resolves two federal court cases that concern A.R.M.S. claim of patent infringement. Magpul will resume distributing a modified MBUS folding rear sight that does not infringe the '962 patent. A.R.M.S. vigorously protects its valuable intellectual property rights and is pleased that a mutually agreeable settlement could be reached. Date: Friday, July 17, 2009 Title:A.R.M.S. Inc. wins Trade Secret and Breach of Fiduciary Duty Lawsuit against Stephen P. Troy, Jr. and Troy Industries, Inc.. Sub-title:Jury in United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts awards A.R.M.S., Inc. $1.8M in weapons accessory trial. (West Bridgewater, MA) - A federal court jury awarded A.R.M.S. Inc., a designer of accessories and attachments for small arms weapons for 30 years, in excess of $1.8 million in damages in a lawsuit alleging theft of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty against Stephen P. Troy, Jr. and his company, Troy Industries, Inc., of Lee, MA. In the lawsuit, originally filed on August 23, 2007, A.R.M.S. alleged that its former employee of seven months, Stephen Troy, who had held a position of trust and confidence with the company, had stolen A.R.M.S.'s trade secrets for a proprietary handguard system for use on M-4/M-16/AR-15 rifles and incorporated those trade secrets in a competing modular, free-float railed handguard system that attached to the barrel nut and that was being offered and sold by Troy Industries, commencing after he was fired from A.R.M.S.. On June 26, 2009, after a two-week trial in the Massachusetts Federal District Court, a nine member federal jury returned a verdict against Stephen P. Troy and Troy Industries, finding them liable for misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty. Richard Swan, the president of A.R.M.S.® Inc., said, "We are pleased that the jury upheld our trade secret rights and determined that our former employee and his company should not profit from the theft of our trade secrets." Amongst others, witnesses for A.R.M.S. included two representatives of the U.S. military. Other issues in the case remain pending before the Court. Question.. Im curious as to the weight comparisons of all brands as far as rail systems goes. Now that would be a hell of a post.. Thanks Man.. |
