I have built a SBR. I purchased the upper complete and built my lower and the rest. The upper consists of a 10.3 DD 1:7 twist barrel and a noveske kx3. I have not put alot of rounds through this weapon yet but question is... Does the KX3 really work? I do know it presses the sound away from you and people around you, but does it actually help a Short barrel cycle better? I  have never seen any reviews or articles proving this. I think Id much rather have a Battlecomp 1.0 and shorten this thing up a few more inches. Any help would be great.

I've had thousands of rounds through my 10.5 and never had an issue.

It's big, heavy and ugly, but it's staying on there because I know it will work EVERY time.

I have one on a 7.5" pistol AR... No problems whatsoever out of that gun so far.

I rock an MK18 DD 10.3" upper.
It runs fine with a standard hider.

I like the KX3, im not discrediting it, i just wany my rifle as short as possible and have seen many military and civilian rifles with standard bird cages or other aftermarket comps or suppressors and they never complain. I think im going to sell it and go for more of the MK18. I want the DD lite or DD RIS2 rail.

The KX3 comes in handy on really short barrels, like 7.5 to 8.5.
It gets rid of some of that concussive blast that hits your face.

I used a KX3 on one of my 10.5 guns for a couple of years and it does direct the blast away from you and shooters near you.

As for reliability the gun runs 100% so I can't honestly see a difference.

I wouldn't buy one to make an upper run better, I would get one to push the blast out and away....

This, there are other/better ways to make a gun run better. I'd want my gun to run no matter the barrel device.
It does move the blast forward on my shorty.

I've had one of my 10.5 SBR and no complaints.  I've also had a various other flash hiders/comps on it and its run fine.
Outside I dont notice it much.  But I took it to the indoor range with a friend just to have some fun and when I shot it it the sound and recoil was normal to me.  However, I let my friend shoot it and stood behind and to do the side of him... I swear I went deaf.  It was almost unbearable
