Hello everyone,
This is my first post, I am very new to the forum. I've been reading some threads over the past couple days and finally decided to post a question. I have done some research and am interested in getting an LMT AR-15. Looking at their website I am interested in the LMT CQB MRP Defender Model 16. I called my local gun shop to see if they had any in stock. The gentleman told me that the only LMT AR-15's that they had in stock was a LMT CQB Defender 2000. I said thanks for your help and hung up the phone call. I went to LMT's website and cannot find the LMT CQB Defender 2000. I did a little bit of research on this forum and found a thread that has got me all confused now. There was a thread saying that all lower's that are semi-auto are designated "Defenders" while all full-auto lowers are designated "Guardian." Because I cannot find the Defender 2000 on their website I am confused and feel like the Defender 2000 is the same thing as the Defender Model 16. So I am very confused. Is the CQB Defender 2000 and the CQB MRP Defender Model 16 the same thing? If not what is the difference? I am not sure if the company decided to do a name change? Hopefully you guys can help me out. I appreciate your help. Thanks! |

LTM is nice they are all like everyone saying flip a coin LTM Colt BCM Daniel Defense and so on they are all have the TDP package. me I went with an BCM. LTM does not perk under the FSB don't mean much to others. to me it does. here's mine. BCM M4 Carbine Mod 2. I went with the MOD 2 and am happy with it.that way you can change out the flash hider or the stock and out what you want to put on it.+ it also comes with the troy pop ups in the rear. in my OP i think BCM is the best bang for your buck you can get. other rifles are nice but verry few come with the TDP...

If I recall the OP correctly there was nothing mentioned about BCM in his question....simply wanted clarification to his questions about LMT....

Quoted: Try again, The TDP is owned by Colt. Only Colt, FN and now S&W legally have the TDP and only the M16 and M4 are built to it.LTM is nice they are all like everyone saying flip a coin LTM Colt BCM Daniel Defense and so on they are all have the TDP package. me I went with an BCM. | Well not to say if you want a good rifle you can't get it. but I believe colt is the only one who has that licensing agreement. now for those who don't know let me lay it out for you. not saying to go out and buy just colt. if your in the market to buy a black rifle and want something that will last thru carbine class's would be as followed in no order LMT,Colt,BCM,Daniel Defense,,FN. so with that said there is a lot of people out there who does not take there rifle to class's year after year... there are ( plenty ) of good rifle name brands out there that will suit you well for the weekend shooter or for a shooter that loves to hunt. but as far as one who owns the TDP would be Colt. the Department of Defense does not own the technical data package. Under the terms of the licensing agreement. M4 TDP remains Colt proprietary data. |

Parkerizing ( or perk? ) under the FSB has nothing to do with the military specs.
It's just the way Colt does/did it. Nothing to do with the much tossed around "mil spec" bit. IMHO is it a non issue, obviously YMMV. The only guns I have are Colt or LMT save for one hand made one. Bill |
