The O-ring goes on the extractor spring and increases extractor tension. Use it. There was a post some time ago about an o-ring that turned an AR into a club in sub zero weather. The OP hails from California. We can have a discussion about the many complications of sub-freezing temperatures on firearms function. The stiffening of flexible polymers being just one of them and pretty low on the list. |

And why BCM also only recommends the installation of their O rings in certain configurations/situations. That said, it's obviously far from just "use it." |

If you get the correct o ring, and not a POS from the corner store, then its will be fine |

the "O" ring with the SOCOM bolt upgrade kit has low temp capability.... I've had one of the early kits in my rifles since 95 and they work well at 26F.... had to replace the continuous ring as it did not work well with the Wolff ammo that I shoot for local matches...
what is the weight of your buffer? an H2 is around 4.2oz |
