A Geissele SSA or a Geissele SSA Enhanced? This rifle is used 99.99% of the time at a range shooting at pieces of paper and hopefully never for home defense but I suppose that is an option to consider.
It looks like the only real difference is 4.5lb for the SSA and 3.5lb for the SSA-E. Is one pound going to make any real difference at these weights? Would it increase the likelihood of an accidental discharge? I've always been schooled that triggers that are too light are dangerous. Thanks |

I have and use an SSA for my range toy AR.
It is an exceptional trigger. the SSA-E is also exceptional. What type of optics are you using? if some "traditional style" scope, maybe the SSA-E if ACOG or aimpoint, maybe an SSA. Really, flip a coin, you'll be happy either way. |

Trigger, a JP if your handy and can use tools,, it comes with good instructions and video. a CMC drop in, if your not handy. 1) The JP depends on set screws. Not ideal for a home defense weapon 2) The CMC can't retain normal pins and uses funky, external E-clips to retain its pins. 3) The OP asked about SSA and SSA-E OP, if you're punching paper, your trigger discipline is probably very good. Go with the SSA-E. |
| SSA-E .... Accidental and negligent discharges occur because the shooter does not know how to properly operate a firearm by touching the trigger. Guns do not magically go off unless in poor condition or unsafe modification. If you follow finger off trigger till ready to fire you will be fine. |
SSA here. It breaks clean enough not glass as other has mentioned but huge difference from my spikes battle trigger which some would say is a good single stage trigger. I got some really good compliments from others at the range on the clean pull and crisp break. The second stage can be banged straight through one RO thought I was going full auto even . It's superb trigger for the money and if you or know LEO you can get pretty deep discount. |

I just bought and installed a SSA-E yesterday and shot 100 rounds with it. My groups at 50 yards where cut in half over my factory DDV7 trigger. Local shop has a few "built" up AR's to demo different parts to customers. I tried the 3 gun trigger and the SSA-E and picked the SSA-E for target shooting which is what I'm doing with it. Sounds like your doing the same paper punching I'm doing, get the SSA-E you'll love it.

I know JP and I know the guy who owns CMC. these man are dedicated! Jp is also a skilled 3 Gunner! He puts all of the equipment he makes to the test,, himself,, come on trigger pins,, brownells sells many types with no clips,,, Its all good we don't have to agree!! Peace !! |
