So I've got some builds completed and they need a home. These are carbines that I plan to travel with. What I'd like is a soft sided gun case for 2 M4 style carbines that will fit inside a hard side travel case. I see that pelican makes one that costs over $400.00. Does anybody know of any similar (cheaper perhaps) options? I even wonder about mixing brands. Who makes hard sided gun cases comparable to pelican?

Thanks for any advice.

Not sure which Pelican case you are looking at for $400.  I am using the Pelican 1750 and it has more than enough room for my 2 rifles - .223 and .308.

I paid $240 for it locally a year ago.  Prices may have since gone up slightly.  Take a peek at the 1750.

pelican 1750 cases will hold 2+ ar's, and some gear.  around $200 shipped at various websites.  Academy sports has them on the shelf for $199.00

I have the voodoo tactical (made in china) double rifle bag, it fits A LOT of stuff can can get heavy enough for me to lose balance and fall on my back

However aimsurplus just started carrying these, which look nicer for half the price:

I think you guys are missing the question.  He's asking for a soft sided case that fits into a hard case.

I've been eyeing that case but I haven't heard the best things about condor. On the other hand, I wouldn't do much carrying with it. I would just be using it in my pelican. Any opinions?

Spikes has one also, but you will need to buy a second set of straps for the second carbine.  Not many cases come with a Molle strap setup like theirs to allow you to set it up anyway you want.

I'm not positive they still have the hard case though

That brown Spike's soft case and those two ARs look familiar.

It should.  I stole it out of your photobucket account while I was digging around through it.

I would have used my own, but I can't even afford two rifles I'm so poor.

Cool. No worries. I recently picked up a used Pelican case like the one you posted above and my Spike's case does fit perfectly in it.

A thread after my own heart... I've been looking online at two gun softcase with the requirement being that there are internal molle/pals webbing for custom strapping rather than those big fixed velcro straps that span the entire width. I want one with a weapon on each side and the foam separator. It looks like my options are LaRue and 5.11. Anyone have any others?

Great minds think alike. Your requirements are the same as mine. I'm thinking I'm going to use the 5.11 36" double rifle bag inside of a Plano AW 36" double gun case. Will cost me about $215 shipped. The pelican hard gun case with soft sided bag is a $430 setup. I'm coming in at exactly half that. We'll see how she does but I think it oughta work out real nice. The Plano AW cases look to be pretty nice.

Take a look at the Voodoo Tactical 36" double rifle case too, you may prefer its ergonomics to the 5.11.

Yeah, I had looked at that one, and it is a nice looking case, but it doesn't have the pals webbing on the inside. Just the two big straps. I've got a couple cases like that already for single guns but I'm concerned it won't hold the rifles in a staggered configuration for 2 gun setups. I just don't want my guns sliding out of position and bumping up against eachother too much. Seems like pals webbing would be a bit more secure. I typically fly over 200 days out of the year and the sight of baggage handlers (ramp gorillas) handling luggage roughly is an all too common sight.
