I have a YHM free float quad rail on my rifle and I have a troy folding front sight. The gun shoots really high in the current configuration (about 8 inches at 50 yards) and I was wondering if there is a way to change the angle of the rail so that my sighting will be more accurate.

Doesn't that troy front sight have the elevation adjustment like a normal AR15 front sight?
If so, adjust the sight up and this will lower your point of impact.

Yes it does and believe me ive tried. The point of impact is still wayyyyy too high even after it is fully adjusted. Ive come to the conclusion the the rail needs to be adjusted

Theres no way to adjust . The tube &/or locking nut might not be square or have some burrs . You can use a pencil or something to mark the locking nut . Then remove the tube & nut & check for burrs . If its not square you will have to remove material from the upper half of tube &/or locking nut .

ETA: It could also be the upper receiver face is not square or a combination of both .

is it possible you put a gas block height sight on the same-plane rail?

It would be seriously difficult to screw up the installation of the rail.
If one of the rail parts is bad I am sure YHM will replace it.
Lay the upper assembly on a flat surface to see if the rail is level with upper.
Run a long rod through the barrel and out the back of the upper, this should give an easy visual clue as to how straight the bore is to the upper.

What's wrong with YHM?  I have a rifle length diamond series on my WW AR and using magpul mbus or a $25 piece o'shit BSA red dot I can shoot 1-1 1/2" groups at 100 yards.

Strong.... I love people that aimlessly knock brands that they are not familiar with or are "lesser"  in their minds

If it is off YHM will make it tight

I like how everyone is blaming the YHM rail when it could be the sights.  Anyway...

Try this
