I just installed a Troy Claymore on my sbr. I did not have a torque wrench avaliable at the time. it only required about 1/4 of a turn past hand tight. My question is this ok, or is it crucial to torque to a specific lbs? I only did this to get the logo in the proper place, purely cosmetic.

Firstly you got a muzzle brake not a flash hider. Now onto the question. In my limited experience its certainly important to have a torque wrench for things like the barrel nut. I installed my A2 flash hider and did not use a torque wrench and have had zero movement or play in it.

Should be fine. Did you use a washer? What kind if you did?

If not...tighten it up. It's not like catastrophic failure will occur if it does.
