| I have a quick question in regards to a work gun used in law enforcement. How heavy are the guns you use for work? Also, currently i use a Magpul afg for shooting at the range. What are the safety concerns for using the AFG in a real life situation? example: Due to the type of hold it leaves open the area of your arm pit (not protected by standard vest) Would you guys just use a VFG? Thanks you |

Thanks you That whole thing about unprotected armpits is a lot of poopoo. There are no safety concerns with an AFG. I would think that most patrol guns range between 6 1/2 pounds and 9 pounds, depending on accessories and optics. ETA: the first reply is a wise one |

Use what is most effective for your style of shooting/training/dept policy. A round can penetrate under your pits regardless of hold type depending on your body positioning during a shoot without regard for weapon type being used. See the SCHP Trooper Coates (RIP, brother) OIS vid for verification. If you are effective at getting on target the quickest with an AFG then use it. The same goes for a VFG. What someone else uses might not be the best for you, obviously. Try different techniques & report back. Stay safe!
Edit: I think the SF Mini Scout might be the lightest & brightest dedicated rail light out right now. |
