Looks like that is what this one has become.

I did some scope switching and the Nikon 3-9 was moved to my Ruger Ultralight .308, with the Burris 1.75-5 finding a home on the Smith.  Not only does it make the gun handier, but fits even better in my modified saddle scabbard.  We are doing a bunch of scouting this summer on the horses and the AR is a great tool to have in the box.

Lots of blowdowns from all the windstorms we had last winter so the Oregon saw comes along.  I also just finished making a heavy kukri to accompany it and to even the weight on the saddle a bit.  Posted elsewhere.

Gun is slingless, except for a light cotton webbing GI equipment strap I carry in a pocket which I rarely use but have if I need it.

No.  It is a Smith and Wesson M&P15, 5.56.

Very nice. The carbine has everything you need for what you need the firearm to do.

I have 36"-37" arms, so I find the carbine HG's rather confining, but YMMV.

it looks like your scope is lower than your front sight....how do you use it at low power?

It's no problem, even at 1.75x.  There is a slight haze that you see right thru caused by the front sight but it in no way blocks the usefulness of the scope.  I agree, it LOOKS like there would be a problem but the optical realities trump intuition.

That can't be repeated often enough, but the question will still come up.

Lookin' good, EVR.
