So I'm new to this board, and relatively new to the AR world. I've been shooting ARs at work for about two years and hunting all my life, but have never had an AR to call my own. After some time to convince the wife I was finally able to get the "okay". I didn't want to go with a lower end product because I firmly believe quality always wins out. After doing some research I decided on the 16" Larue OBR 5.56. Plus, I live pretty close to them so it's nice to able to support the local guys. So far I've got about 200 rounds through it, and I must say it is the smoothest shooting rifle I have ever shot. I am extremely impressed with the build quality that they produce. I happen to be a lefty so I have almost completely modified it to work for me.

Here is a list of mods so far:
BAD-ASS Ambi safety
Troy ambi mag release
Mecharmor TacOps 1 Charging Handle
LT's new A-PEG grip
LT's forward grip
Troy BUIS

For my optic I decided to give the Aimpoint Micro T1 a try. So far I really like the size and weight, but am toying with the idea of changing to the EoTech XPS3.

My light is the Surefire M952V. I happened to have this lying around so I threw it on, but so far I am not happy with the size, and the bulkiness of the factory mount. I hope to mod this light to make it work, or I may just have to cough up some more money to get what I want.

I still have a few things I want to pick up for it like a 3x magnifier, bipod, and a compensator. Just need to do quite a bit more research before I decide which one.

I know all anyone cares about are pictures so here you go!

Nice choice.

Also it looks like you've got all the bells and whistles in short order...

I'd say leave it like it is, put another 1,000 rounds through it before you try anything new.

I agree about leaving it alone, but sometimes that is just soooooo hard to do. I'm one of those guys who likes to tinker with things. I guess I should listen to the old saying "if it aint broke, don't fix it!".

I haven't gotten to shoot since I changed to the A-PEG, but from just the feel of it when I'm holding the rifle I thing I'll really like it. I've got big hands so the wider, more formed grip fits very well. As far as the TacOps goes I love it. The handles are long enough on both sides to be easily worked from either hand even when you have a full scope in place.

Sweet stick!

FYI, SKD Tactical has LaRue mounts for the Millennium lights (LT170) for $59 right now. Much better than the stock M93.

Thanks for all the nice words. So far I'm loving it! Just wish I had more time to go out and shoot. It took about two weeks to get the OBR, but I ordered it back in December, but I've heard the current wait has gotten ridiculous. At the time I ordered the PredatAR had a 16-18 week wait time. Obama is an awesome gun sails men.

Congrats on the rifle, and getting the "OK" from your wife. Have fun.
