| How can I tell if an upper is in fact a Colt upper ? Are there any markings on them to identify them as genuine Colt uppers ? |

The easiest thing to do is to look for a raised or stamped "C" marking on the right side of the receiver.
On an A2 upper, it's right in front of the rear sight housing. On a flattop, it's right above the forward assist bump. On a later A1, it's in the recess of the carry handle under the sights. ~Augee |
