Colors besides black, od green, or tan don't belong on an ar, sorry its just my opinion. If I bought my wife a pink gun, she would tell me to take it back, and she loves pink. I guess I'm failing to see why an ar build would be any different for a woman that it would be for a man. My wife loves my ar the way I made it.

My mom wants black and FDE with a pink trigger, and my fiancee wants BLACK. That's all.

My wife wants hers purple. It ain't about color for me, if she willingly wants an AR and wants to practice with it, it can be any color she wants

This is the AR my Gf built for herself. She wanted light so it's a 14.5 pinned with the lightest furniture. Only thing that could have made it lighter was a full pencil profiled barrel.

Im going to build my wife an ar with a Spikes pink punisher lower and a pink grip and rail covers.  Other than that its going to be black.  Shell love it when its finished.  Nothing wrong with a girl being girly and owning a pink gun.  My wife actually bought the pink M&P 15-22 and its a sweet gun.

This is how I feel.

The other point of this thread was that from what I've seen, many women want lightweight builds(my wife included). I guess I'm saying that even if it's black is there other things that women like on their AR or is it pretty standard?

Thanks
Paul

Could save 4.64 ounces by using a TRX Extreme and a micro gas block.

One day my girlfriend will get an AR, and I plan on putting a pink index clip on the rail to signify its ownership. This is a good idea for a pic thread.

hey big is your gf. My wife is tiny 4'11 90 pounds so its hard to build and ar 15 for her that's fits her length of pull and strength, only thing i can think of is an sbr, but then i would be jealous lol

hey guys so whats the weight on your wife or gf's rifles?

My wife has 3 (well 2.5) ARs.

One is a 16" colt lightweight barrel with pink duracoat rail covers, grip, stock. She wanted it this way so she can easily swap out the pink parts for black.

The other two are 11.5" BCM BFH barreled SBRs. One in black and one in FDE (still under construction). She wants to dye some white index clips pink and mix them in with the black and FDE (once again so she can easily remove the color)

Check the lightweight AR threads...

But seriously I built a SS midlength with MOE handguards, TROY Claymore and A1 upper that my wife liked over my other AR's which she doesn't like at all.

With loaded 30 round magazine.

It's a 13" Troy Alpha...Very lightweight and uses the stock barrel nut so it's great for the 14.5" pinned rifles.

This dude gets it.

Even though women say that they want something light, what they really want most of the time is something SHORT.

Even small women can do surprisingly well with reasonable weight, so long as the OAL is minimized.  In fact, within reason, a short, heavy gun is easier for them than a long, light gun.

The upper/lower is from Red River Tactical in Whitewright, TX. I believe they just did a limited run of these through Mega so finding a set would be hard. The grenades are actually machined in the set, we just colorfilled pink. The pink dots are just nylon plugs from lowes that we painted. They snap perfectly in the Rainier Arms evolution rail.

The barrel is a Black Rain Ordnance 16" carbine stainless steel.

That's as far as I've got so far.  Going to combine the WAR upper and a PRI Gasbuster charging handle to try and eliminate all blowback so she can enjoy suppressed shooting.

PSA Lower
ALG QMS Trigger
KAC triggerguard
MIAD
PSA LPK (minus trigger)
Innovative Arms WAR adjustable upper

Wife said no pictures tonight because she just got back from the horse barn, maybe tomorrow

Here's her AR:

Complete Colt LE6920 Upper

DD EZ CAR 7.0 Rail

LRB Lower

RRA LPK

RRA 2-stage match trigger

LMT Extension tube

Colt CAR Stock

Houge Grip

KAC VFG

KAC rail covers

Colt factory sling

Now she wants to get tan Magpul mags, grip and stock, then dye them purple/pink. Also need to install her KAC endplate with QD sling mount so she can upgrade to a better sling.

ETA: forgot some parts.

Here is my ladies rifle.
PSA middy upper with LW CFH barrel 16" .
PSA lower bought from the last sale
RRA socom clone stock.
Stag LPK
No name sling.
Tasco pro point red dot.
G2 light in a cheap mount.

We looked through my parts bin to find what she liked for accessories. She found a unique peep sight. Here she is testing it.

I don't have a pic yet, but I built a clone of my favorite AR for my girlfriend.  It's a "lighter" profile middy with Magpul furniture.  She does have trouble with the weight, but we are working on it.  Hell, a few months ago she could barely work the slide on my Glock.  Now its not a problem at all.

I put this one together for my wife during Christmas.

Spike's Upper, lpk, receiver extension, and lightweight barrel
Aimpoint T-1
Troy rear sight and Alpha Rail w/sight
Surplus Ammo and Arms lower
