I did a trade for some parts and in the bag was a part marked Forward assist block.
I know it replaces the FA but what is the point of not having a FA and using the block?

Probably just removes some weight and plugs the whole so dirt/crud can't get in.

some people dont like FA because if you have a slight jam you can just reach in and pull out the round. But if you pound on the FA you can push that round in so hard its gets difficult to remove.

I bought a pack of two of those for my Olympic pistol caliber upper. The Olympic pistol caliber upper recievers have forward assists but there are no grooves on the bolt carriers so the forward assists are useless. I installed one and traded the other to you.
