EDITED: Nothing should be sliding. If you left out the buffer spring then you would hear sliding, which would be bad. Most AR's make all kinds of noise when you shake 'em (sling swivels, collapsible butt stocks, buffers....lots of moving parts) Misunderstood. See below............... With the buffer in your hand you should feel the steel slugs moving back and forth as you shake it. Probably about 1/4" of movement. Exception would be the Spikes type (DD, PSA). They use tungsten powder and would have a different feel. |
