im thinking about ordering a white oak amament 14.5 and i have a striped upper receiver. They only had the barrel in ambi. i talked to there customer service and they said i could use the barrel on a righthanded upper if the upper reciever is an A3. So i guess my question is is the information he gave me true? and how do i know if my upper reciver is an A3. I am EXTREMELY stumped on this one.
Thanks very much

A2 - fixed carry handle. Part of the upper receiver, can't be removed. A3 - flat top, I believe that A3's are the same as A4's, A3 being the civilian version, A4: military.

They mean A3 as in no M4 feed ramp cuts in the upper receiver.  Carry handle or flat top means nothing here, to use that barrel with the ambi extension, you need an upper without M4 ramps.  Their other extension is the M4 type to work with uppers with M4 cuts.
