| ok guys i need some help. im looking to buy my first ar15 and im not sure which route to go... there are so many options and stuff that i dont understand. should i buy a complete rifle or build one? it seems i can save money by building one but my whole lack of knowledge of whats good and whats not comes into play. even if i purchase a complete rifle, im not sure what i should be looking for. could anyone offer me some advice? thanks in advance! |

Building does not seem to be very difficult and there are plenty of resources posted and linked here to help you along the way. The benefit is you can make it exactly the way you want instead of upgrading to something else here and there.
Whichever route you go there are plenty of things to read here to help you make a decision. |
| Find one you like, buy it or build it ( but keep it basic), shoot the crap out of it, figure out what you like and don't like, then build what you want. The more you use it the more you know what you want. That way you will save, in the long run, by building it exactly how you want, when the time comes, and not waste $$ experimenting on high end parts only to find out that you don't like particular things. BEWARE of spare parts, they have a tendency to spread BRD quickly! |
