Supposedly the chrome negatively effects accuracy. I always though this was kind of funny when talked about AK. It’s an AK, its not going to be all that accurate anyway (maybe a vepr). Then people will say that chrome last longer….your barrel steel or chrome is going to outlast you anyway so does it really matter. Chrome does stand up to corrosive ammo better though. All depend on how you plan to use it…or abuse it. Which ever.

| Generally, stainless barrels are thought to have a shorter lifespan that chrome lined barrels. However, since the lifespan of the stainless barrel is still measured in many thousands of rounds, it won't matter to most shooters. Stainless tends to be more accurate than chrome lined. |
