| does anyone know how many rounds can be fired through the panther AP4 Barrel? for .22 lr, .223 and 5.56? |
| was wondering because i have fired about 3000 rounds through no problem but looking online people say the average life of a CHF chrome lined DD barrel is like 10000 to 15000 rounds and my barrel is not that but a 4140 chrome moly steel barrel I don't know if this is a high end barrel like a dd |

There are no definite numbers in expected barrel life. It will not implode on round number 12,986. It will vary with the amount you shoot, how often you shoot and cleaning habits. Generally, when accuracy gets worse, you get chipping in the chrome lining or bullets start tumbling, then it is (past) time to change barrels. Precision shooters may swap barrels at 5-6000 rounds and plinkers may swap barrels at 12,000. Most shooters will never shoot the amount of ammo that will wear a barrel in tis lifetime.
Maybe email DPMS and post thier answer here. |
