I would be most grateful for your help. I need to know if there is any specific break-in procedure for the barrel of a new M4 Commando which is still NIB. Best regards.

Nope.  Make sure it is clean and lubed.  Then shoot it.

This is a tech forum.  If you're not going to try to give a legit answer, don't bother posting.

There's no special procedure to break in an M4 barrel.  Just shoot it.

No break in is required.  Please go to the maintenance and cleaning section here and read up prior to starting out.

One note is that the bore of the gun should be dry or have very little oil.  Just run a few dry patches through it.

That video made me laugh. :)

Good advice though... The best break-in is this: Load rounds into magazine until full. Insert magazine into gun. Aim at target. Fire. Repeat until you run out of ammo or stop having fun, whichever comes first. Barrel broken in!

But for real...

Make sure it is clean, lube it up good and shoot it a bunch. I find that they smooth out after about 100 cycles, you can rack  and run dryfire drills to help it along.

if its new make sure you clean it once to remove the packing lubricant which is pretty thick, other than that just shoot it
