I wouldn't buy anything from somebody that has a UTG optic as a standard option.

that does seem inconsistent with $1400.

More like a $900 rifle, maybe 1100 if I am feeling really heavy in the wallet.

From your description, this looks like another auction for the exact same gun, and he's asking for a starting bid of $1,975.  Not worth it.

With the specs listed, I'm not feeling that the upper is Spike's factory, therefore I believe its a parts gun. Considering the parts manufacturers aren't listed, I'm thinking more around $700. But I wouldn't be interested either way.

Looks to me like he is taking a gun that is Tacti-cool and trying to sell it to some future owner lacking in proper knowledge.

I thought Spike's barrels were 1/7twist and chrome lined?

Sounds like a frankengun (cobbled together pieces)  that he is trying to charge a premium for.

I'm sorry ... you have to knock $ 100 of the price for the fake "suppressor". Bad choices need to have consequences.  $ 600 .... Tops .... and the seller has to throw in pictures of an outrageously hot blond firing it.

Most everything else on there is mid-grade, and some of it much less(UTG optic), the barrel is very basic and the furniture(while I like almost everything Magpul does) is not expensive. I'll say $700, and that's only because of the end-plate, CASV-M and MIAD, and a couple extras. Rifle only w/no AFG, PMAG or other stuff =$650
Dude is hoping for someone uneducated enough to make a Herpa Derp of this magnitude. Saddly, while it might take a few auctions, he'll probably find someone... and then they'll come here and feel like a GIANT LOSER.

$1400, though?... I could spend another $100 and get a LaRue PredatAR.

Some people's kids...

+1 to pass.

They cheaped on the parts that matter, then put some nice parts over top of it.  Then put some crap parts over top of that.

Stay away.

The gun market has certain paralels to the car market.

Think of some 23 year old (liveing in his parents basement) buying a $3500 crapmobile and dressing it up with wheels , tires , sound system , tinted windows, suspension add ons
and a crazy exaust system.
When the kid trys to sell it he adds up every penny he ever spent on it (at local retail) and then he has an absolute hissy when somebody tells him his shitbox isn't worth $3000.

Everyones idea of the perfect gun is going to be different , the more aftermarket parts you slap on one the less likely you are of haveing someone wanting that particular combination of "stuff"

This is definitely true but i feel is you start with a good base gun and use quality accessories it is more likely to hold its value. If someone does not want those particular accessories then you can always take them off and resell them by themselves as high quality parts are always in demand.

Pretty sure VLTOR and YHM pieces aren't stock on Spike's Uppers.  Dude should discount the gun because he's a liar.  Also I agree the castle nut is on backwards.

Lets put this gun in perspective...he is asking 1400 dollars for this...thing. Prices are off the top of my head:

CASV-E: 289
Magpul stuff: 85-100
no name barrel...it aint spikes: 150-200
spikes lower: 120
LPK: 80
no name Bolt: 100
no name Upper: 100
misc internals: 75
UTG optic:  priceless

So based on Gun Store shelf prices, this may be a 1000 dollar rifle...assuming he got no dealer discounts, etc.

So based on this, what can you get for 1400 dollars?
-a LaRue PredatAR
-an actual Spikes Rifle with alot of goodies
-A Bravo Company Rifle
-etc.

Bottom Line:  1400 Dollars can buy you some of the best Rifles on the market that come with some of the best customer support out there.  Do not waste it on something that got pieced together by someone who is trying to pull a fast one.

Bottom line no $1400  get a DD, or a Colt, gear and ammo for that price!

Looks like someone went shoping at Cheaper than Dirt!

Least it has a good "fit and finish!"

Buffer tube is UTG also.

Pass, I wouldn't get that for $600...maybe $450.00

If you go to the gunauction link above and look at the rest of the pictures....the brass deflector has brass all over it lol.....so when it says new and unfired in the description you are certainly getting a lie right there.

But I'm not sure if thats the actual gun you are getting....either way the amount of money that guy wants....I'd rather believe my above statement about this deusche

I wouldnt pay anything for that rifle.

He'd have to give it to me for free and throw in a pistol of some type.

I'm sorry but I didn't pose the question to you so you're right, you are guessing.

I asked the question because of an earlier post the OP made.

This reminds me off my last weekend.

"Come on man, I've put over $4000 into this car to make it badass. Don't low-ball me like that."

"Yeah, but you took $3500 worth off of it. Thanks anyways."

So I don't make the same mistake. I am new to AR and see prices all over the board which I have no clue why. But with this post I just learned a wealth of knowledge and I am starting a scratch build in a few weeks. So I next post will be what parts make the perfect AR?
It is amazing the quick knowlege there is here on this forum sometimes I think these guys have been around these guns for many years.
Thanks

And before that post I gave such a nice thank you. How much does it cost to list a gun on gunbroker?
