| Is one better than the other or things to watch out for? Found some info on the Bushmaster but could not find much info on FN AR flattop recievers. |
| I found an AR in M4 configuration that I was thinking of buying. It has a Bushmaster lower with a FN flattop upper. It was a stripped upper that the current owner installed using the Bushmaster parts (barrel, bolt, etc). As mentioned earlier, I thought FN did not sell to civilians or the ones sold were factory 2nds. |

FN would be better then Bushmaster... If you can get real FN parts. bushmaster uses 4150 How would the FN be better? please tell me you didn't just ask how an FN barrel could be better than Bushmaster. FN is one of the oldest and most respected firearms manufacturers in the world. Bushmaster is a company that has a much shorter history and is most recently renowned for their steadily decreasing quality and the fact that they somehow managed to F-up what was quite possibly the greatest rifle/carbine design of the last 30+ years ...The Masada. Bushmaster makes decent stuff but given the choice between Bushmaster and other much better companies (Spikes,LaRue,PSA,Daniel Defense, etc, etc, etc) there is no reason to go with Bushmaster EVER except maybe price. |

I don't believe FN can legally sell uppers to civilians. What is PSA then? It's an upper put together by PSA, using a barrel made by FN....like half of all the other CL barrels on the market. The OP is talking about the actual receiver, not barrel. ETA - Johnny come lately over here...looks like more than one person beat me to the punch.
