I ordered a BCG among many other things from one of the companies here on black friday sale. The metal was pushed it so much at all 4 staking points that it moved up and split in half. Is that going to cause a problem? I am worried about the small chunks breaking off and causing problems.

If there is excess material just take a small metal file and lightly smooth it down. Sometimes production an volumn allows too big a squeeze. Touch up with OxPho blue and you'll be good-to-go, IMO. Id be more concerned with too light of a staking.  Have a great day,........Mike

Def looks a little excesive but too much is better than too little.  I would just go and shoot it, shouldn't have to worry about anything coming off.

I don't see any circle mark between the two fasteners on top of the gas key that it would indicate that it's a LMT MIM gas key.

If it's a standard steel gas key like all of my bolt carriers, there should not have any cracks where they stake it, contact who you got it from and let them know about it.

Here's an old thread back in 2009 about LMT MIM gas keys, the staking cracks most of the time.

The TM gives a max for material pushed up by field staking of .025 above the top of the key.
