| OK simple question. Can I reuse stripper clips. Like can i reload a stripper clip and reuse it later for quicker reloading? Or would that just be besides the point and be more work? |

I use them over and over. Who needs the tabs, anyway? If the tabs are not there, the rounds fall out. You know this right? Maybe if you have a bandolier full and are running across a battle field, but for traveling to the range there is enough spring tension that the rounds will stay in place just fine without the tabs. I've got a few with broken tabs, and have yet to have an issue while transporting them to the range. Granted I keep them seperate from the good clips and strictly for range use, but they still work. |

None of my rounds have ever fallen out. I'm sure they do, and you can shoot moa offhand with wolf all day long. Yes you can have rounds on the strippers, yes they will stay there if you baby the fuck out of them on the range, where you walked 10 ft from the truck and unloaded a rifle on the bench. If you actually use them like a soldier would, ie carry a bando more than 10ft they would fall out of the clips Even though you have mucho interweb bravado, you don't beat physics. |

I'm a handgun/shotgun guy and I recently bought my first AR (RRA NM A4 in 5.56). Absolutely love it. I'm finding it a bit tedious to load 30-40 rounds in a magazine... Do stripper clips really make a difference? From a thread in the magazine section of the forum here. Quoted:
A while back someone was talking about loading a pile of ammo and the discussions included mention about how long it takes to load magazines. I was curious on the difference in the time it takes to load magazines, so I loaded mags on the clock. 5 magazines loaded from a pile of ammo by hand took 6 minutes and 25 seconds, for an average of 77 seconds per magazine 5 magazines loaded from a pile of ammo with a single shell (non-strip) Lula took 4 minutes and 45 seconds for an average of 57 seconds per magazine, including time to attach the Lula and move it between mags. I was surprised this was not faster. 5 magazines loaded from a pile of stripper clips took 2 minutes 25 seconds for an average of 29 seconds per magazine, including time to attach the spoon and move it between mags. I was a little surprised how much faster stripper clips was. Still curious if using a strip Lula is any quicker for strips or pile of loose ammo. Yes, stripper clips make a huge difference. And, the StripLula is the best thing since sliced bread wether you are using stripper clips of loose rounds, get one. |

Do stripper clips really make a difference? If you buy surplus ammo it may be on stripper clips. Use the clips to load the mags with the clip tool provided. It would be tedious to load stripper clips with loose ammo just to load in mags. Loaded clips do make transporting in bandoleers easier. |

In Ohio, it's illegal to have loaded rifle mags in a vehicle ( I know, right?) but stripper clips are fine. I use them over and over. Who needs the tabs, anyway?I hate that BS law. Can't you just remove the mag and put it in the glove compartment? |

Reusing stripper clips is tedious imo . If your dealing with stupid laws or making up bandoliers etc i can see it. Otherwise a maglula and load mags........ It is a pita, but like someone else said, I sit and load them while drinking beer and watching tv. Actually, lately I've been buying Lake City already on strippers. It costs about 2 cents/round extra, but it's nice having them ready to go in 30 round boxes. |

ETA- "(a) No ammunition is in the firearm in question, and no ammunition is loaded into a magazine or speed loader that may be used with the firearm in question and that is located anywhere within the vehicle in question, without regard to where ammunition otherwise is located within the vehicle in question. For the purposes of division (K)(5)(a) of this section, ammunition held in stripper-clips or in en-bloc clips is not considered ammunition that is loaded into a magazine or speed loader." I bought a bag of 500 stripper clips off eBay for $11.00 and it can with two of those old metal loaders you stick on the mag
but i only keep those for emergency. strip-lula - only way to go!!! you can load loos rounds with it and if using stripper clips just slide one in... fold the top over (keeps your fingers from gouging and pinching) push down and 10 loaded that fast. I don't drink but rather spend a rainy night watching TV loading a few hundred stripper clips then the few times i get range time. (Range time is for fun and shooting.. not loading mags!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLCRJka3CN0 just take 1:50 and watch any questions if they are worth it??? lol |
