Nice. I like the OD green colored furniture. I have DPMS LPK's on both my rigs and I honestly don't understand why people talk so much smack about DPMS. They've been producing AR's a lot longer than many...in fact, longer than most of the companies we keep hearing about these days. DPMS products are used by law enforcement and the military, so I have a hard time understanding why all the criticism. If they were so bad, the U.S. military sure as hell wouldn't use be using them.

as for "used" by LE.... more often than not the budget and a bean counter are the reason, not the quality! don't buy into all of the advertisements and sponsorship. |

The Military does not use them...  All USGI M4's are made by Colt and the M16A4's are made by FNH
With that said the only reason that any LEO agencies use DPMS is because they undercut all the other brands price and practically give them to the department. |

My DPMS LR-308 with 16" Heavy Barrel is GTG with just about 1000 rounds thru it.. and a tack driver..
I had a DPMS Oracle 5.56 rifle... but I could not get it to run steel cased ammo at all.. even after repeated CHAMBER brush treatments.. I sold the DPMS 5.56 upper and went with another brand of upper.. the DPMS 5.56 was also a tack driver.. FWIW.. heres a pic of both of them before I sold the upper part of it.. the 308 is on top.. 
for $570 for a DPMS Oracle from SAA you can't really go wrong for a starter rifle.. |

Hmmm..... You might want to rethink that statement there Sparky. Seems to me the UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS. qualifies as "military." DPMS stands for Defense Procurement Manufacturing Services and has been supplying parts and or complete guns to government agencies for over 20 years. Nice. I like the OD green colored furniture. I have DPMS LPK's on both my rigs and I honestly don't understand why people talk so much smack about DPMS. They've been producing AR's a lot longer than many...in fact, longer than most of the companies we keep hearing about these days. DPMS products are used by law enforcement and the military, so I have a hard time understanding why all the criticism. If they were so bad, the U.S. military sure as hell wouldn't use be using them. The Military does not use them... All USGI M4's are made by Colt and the M16A4's are made by FNH
With that said the only reason that any LEO agencies use DPMS is because they undercut all the other brands price and practically give them to the department. |

You may not like what you find. As to the rest of the list you can call all of these agency's and 90% of them will tell you the number 1 reason why the DPMS brand was chosen ...... $$$$$. | I'm pretty sure the Minot police dept doesnt run dpms.... I live in Minot and know several mpd officers. Mpd uses gi M16a2's that they got from Minot air force base. Also, My local fun shop got an hk 416 to demo for the sheriffs dept. Nice gun, except the whole inability to use standard mags and such... |

For my work on varmints it's 100%. cheap uppers and rifles fill a spot in shooting sports. Everyone starts somewhere. I have some uppers that cost twice the price of this DPMS and this one edges them in accuracy for 10 shots. Maybe it's an oddball but she's a shooter for sure! |
