[ARCHIVED THREAD] - DPMS info

i just got a DPMS MOD.A-15 can anyone tell me if this is anything special or just a regular AR. it has a 16" SS barrel ill post pictures in necessary.

Please post pictures. Can you describe it a little more. IIRC Mod A-15 is just the generic model number DPMS stamps on thier lower receivers.

Barrel profile?
Upper receiver?
Front sight or gas block?
Butt stock?

DPMS makes a fine SS barrel. Enjoy it, assuming the rest of the rifle doesn't fall apart

16" stainless steel barrel? How thick/wide is the barrel?

dpms used to sell a carbine with a 16" stainless steel bull barrel that seemed pretty accurate, if heavy. I am not familiar with DPMS selling other 16" stainless steel barrels, but who knows

If it's the "sweet 16 stainless bull" you will most likely be a happy camper with the accuracy.
While heavy is putting it mildly. I've yet to hear of anyone having one that didn't shoot extremely well.(including myself)

Barking up the wrong tree buddy, I recently cut down my collection from 16 AR15's. So guess again.

I was kidding, sort of. No hate, I have built several rifles with DPMS parts. I am a big fan of their Stainless Barrels, they are very good for the price. I would say under priced for the results I have gotten with them. In fact most parts from DPMS have been GTG.

Sorry to say, most problem rifles I have helped people with were also DPMS. The parts are better than the assemblers. Not saying they all are bad, just not assembled as well as they could be.

And to prove I'm not full of shit like some on here. This is an upper with a DPMS Mini SASS I assembled recently.

Again, If you think I'm some ArFCOM elitist just talking shit, you have the wrong guy.
