A receiver is a receiver. There are only a few factories that actually produce upper receivers and they are finished and sold by the gun maker.
Uppers will usually have a symbol above the deflector that indicates where they were forged ,such as a keyhole. There are some gun companies that actually make their own uppers but 99% are from just the few producers. Vltor makes an upper that I would consider the best as far as just an upper receiver ,the MUR. It is a little thicker walled than mil.spec. If you are looking for something better than the usual mil. spec. upper the MUR or an upper that is labeled as billet may be what you want. |
