I have a Gen RM MK1 QA
I thought it was the type that dropped both mags at the same time but with a mag release tuned as "normal" it does not. My question is if I adjust the mag release so it releases the spare mag on the same button press as the mag in the lower will that create reliability issues with the mag release? |

my question would be, how would you modify the mag release to make this work?
My suggestion would be to put your Redi-Mag up on the EE and trade/sell and get the version you want. I did this exact thing, for the oposite reason you are wanting to modify yours. The first one I got off the EE dropped the spare mag with the mag release. I like it better where I have control of dropping the spare mag when I am ready to do a mag change. Not when I do a malfunction drill, or clear the weapon after firing. |

To adjust the mag release you turn it out so the mag release button is more extended, so the mag release has more travel when depressing to the end.
I don't think it's meant to be turned out so far that it ejects the spare on this model but the instructions don't say yes or no on this model. At least from what I read. I'm left handed so there's no smooth way I can do the mag swap in one quick motion anyway, I just wanted to try it each way. |

Bingo Being a lefty I have not had that great a time getting the hang of using it. I can use it as a means of carrying an extra mag on the gun but I suck at trying to speed reload with it. I don't see how a left hander can do it. So I've put it up for sale on the EE but I doubt It'll go for what I'm asking. I paid too much for it to begin with. Anyone have experience at chopping a redi-mag up and turning it into a Redi-Mod? |
