Im working on my first build and im having a hard time deciding which upper i want, either a BCM or a Yankee hill. Ive been eyeballing the spectre length diamond upper yankee hill has but they have some heavy uppers. I know BCM makes great uppers but i wanted a fluted barrel and a yankee hill already has a fluted barrel, phantom flash hider, and a free float tube on it. What do yall think?

I was thinking that too because Bravo Company will put a phantom flash hider on there for me? And if i get that what are some good free float quad rails at a reasonable price? And are there any companys that will dimple/flute my barrel for me ?

BCM doesn't do any installs on FH. You can get it fluted by ADCO, they do great work in short turnaround time. What size rails do you need? carbine, rifle or midlength?

Thanks for the input man, i figure i could get my local gunsmith to put a FH on there for me. I was thinking either a carbine or rifle....probaly rifle. And if i get a bcm upper i want to take the front sight post off and put a mbus flip up there.

If your talking about removing the FSB and installing a railed gas block, you CANNOT put a MBUS on a front gas block. The MBUS will melt.

A flash hider is an easy install. Do it yourself.

Fluted barrels are overrated for most applications.

Well i wasnt gonna put it o the gasblock i would install a spectre length free float rail form yankee hill and the rail is just long enough to cover the gasblock and the mbus would go on the rail. But im torn on putting a yankee hill rail or their upper because of the cost and weight compared to a bcm.

Go with the BCM and don't look back!

But I am curious..OP, what is your goal with this build?  What type of rifle are you trying to build?
