Hey, guys and gals... Cross-posting this from the general discussion...

I have a LaRue upper and my 231's front Arms-Mount latch is unable to clear the Delta Ring hump (LaRue specific issue I think).

Ideally I'd like to keep enough space for an LMT rear sight and give the Eotech just enough elevation to clear the delta ring.

Please let me know if there is an Eotech 553/SU-231 riser that could fit the bill.

Must be clone-correct.

Thank you!

You should probably call a doctor if it's been more than four hours. Or just glance over a few threads in GD and that usually takes care of it.

What's your sense as to the split between QDs and SF4Ps on the issued Block IIs? Just ballparking it, of course. Certainly seems like far more of the latter but I figured i'd go to the source.

Glad to see you're back downrange sir stay safe

Would you say FSP models are more or less common than standard 12.5" non FSP rails?

MARSOC is the only one's still using KAC suppressors/NT4 FH.  All USASOC ie Army SOF and NAVSOC is using Surefire suppressors/SF4Ps.  So all depends on the units.  The standard carbine upper has a A2 FH on it.  Thanks for the well wishes.

Would depend on the unit.  The FSP models were purchased with unit funds.  Non-FSP rails were issued by SOCOM ie Crane to the units.  About a 50/50 distro it seems.

As stated the KAC RIS was first issued in 95' in SOCOM.  It got replaced by the KAC RAS later.

What about the tape “tags” on the FSBs on 4 of those uppers?  There’s writing on them, but I can’t make out any of it...

Who's the stud with the Blk I?  NT4 FH looks melted?  I remember the KAC/Gemtech can's ran pretty hot.  Awesome post, they need a bath and some TLC! Stay safe.

Project: AHII Dark Park. applied in four very light coats: it's pretty dense stuff once oven cured. I love the green hue gray.  Have matching 15" MK12 upper, with 18" SPR chambered in Valkyrie with pod. Sadly I discovered Aero's uppers FA's and port-holes are not truly milspec in diameter so I had to use their FA until I can find a new Colt or FN FA: I disassembled and it's not internally the same as milspec.  Mostly FN internals.  Going to stencil gray to make M05 arctic camo.  It will get a Larue MBT in a few weeks. :)

So kind of a “my stuff” tag, but for unit level?  That makes sense, especially because those tags are really consistent in size and all the same kind of tape.

Just picked up a Colt Block II fsp URG from Thoroughbred Armament, this'll be my first step into the clone game.  I saw that Brownells has the KAC VFG on sale for $16, should I grab that up and use it on the upper or should I get a Tango Down VFG?  Spending $16 on the KAC would be nice vs $60 some-odd on the Tango Down.  Any thoughts?

KAC on BlkI and TD on BlkII.  KAC on MK12s.  I prefer KAC of the two, do what you want.  KAC panels are superior to TD and DD panels.

Honestly at this point either will work fine.  I have a Tango on my block II, and a KAC on my block I.  They've both been used so extensively that they're pretty interchangeable at this point.

I was just listening to the Brownells podcast and they said DD is going to coming out with a SOPMOD complete clone rifle. They mentioned it will NOT have the polymer dust cover, no DD markings on the upper or BCG. It will include B5 furniture. Good on Brownells and DD. Will be interesting to see what price they’re asking for it. I’m guessing they won’t be cheap. Brownells wasn’t sure if it had a 16 in barrel or a p&w 14.5. They need to talk Bill and get a SF4P

Interredasting. I feel like DD is always a day late and a dollar short though. They should have done this two years ago. I imagine the price will suck, and it will be cheaper to still buy the other stripped upper and sell off the components, especially if you're wanting a Colt barrel anyways.

Hopefully, I'm wrong.

What is this kindergarten all over, are we playing show and tell, lol you know how many people on here are hating on the fact you have a baggy full of SF4Ps while most of us are reluctant to spend 330 dollars on one you chauvinistic pig!
Real talk though you ever do any work anything besides the Block II's and MK18's? I mean for example you do any armorer work on the 416s? not trying to take it off topic or anything if so, I have a question if you're willing to let me IM you for an a project I'm gathering parts for, and I spent 3 1/2 years contracting in Afghanistan, and spent some considerable time in RC Central and RC East, and possibly we could of crossed paths, but either way love the cool firsthand pictures you provide and I'm always looking forward to you're replies in this thread, the BLOCK III, and MK18 threads!
